Hi there! I’m Fatema.
A self-taught digital illustrator with a background in Interior Design and Art History.
In 2021, I launched Sand Flower Studio as a space to share my creations and connect with a community that values simplicity, kindness and creativity.

Inspiration//
I find my greatest inspiration while traveling solo, exploring new corners of the world. There’s something about being immersed in unfamiliar surroundings that sparks a sense of wonder in me. To capture this, I keep an illustrated travelogue for each country I visit. By painting the sights and feelings in my sketchbook, I turn each journey into a more intimate, lasting experience.
I’m also captivated by the majestic beauty of cathedrals, temples, mosques, and historic architecture - subjects that frequently appear in my art. I adore cozy spaces like cafes, libraries, and quirky kitchens, and love bringing these inviting corners into my life through drawings.

Beyond Art//
Animal welfare is a cause close to my heart. If I had the chance to start over, I’d blend my love for travel, art, and animals by becoming a traveling veterinarian / artist. Nevertheless, I strive to combine art and animal welfare to bring about awareness.
When I’m not creating, you’ll find me in a quiet, sun-drenched library or sipping my second or sixth cup of karak (or an accidental cup of paint water). When stress takes over, I indulge in Korean food and binge-watch web series to unwind.
I invite you to explore my work and let it inspire you to bring a little creativity and joy into your own world.
